VOLUNTEER WITH YBA PLAY

  • The Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy is currently seeking volunteer coaches for this summer’s YBA PLAY Summer League — a free baseball program serving youth ages 5–12 across Wards 5, 6, 7, and 8. YBA PLAY is on the front lines of growing the game by creating fun, accessible, community-based opportunities for young people to learn and love baseball in a positive environment.

The program runs Monday through Thursday from 6:00–7:30 PM, June 22 through July 30, at sites across DC including Rosedale Rec Center, King Greenleaf Rec Center, the Nationals Youth Baseball Academy, and Ferebee Hope Recreation Center.

YBA PLAY uses a unique program model designed to make baseball fun, engaging, and development-focused for every participant — and positive adult role models are essential to that experience. All sessions are led by professional Nationals Youth Baseball Academy staff, so volunteers will be supported, guided, and set up for success each night.

No advanced baseball experience is required — just energy, reliability, and a willingness to encourage and engage young people.

Volunteers can sign up for one evening or multiple sessions throughout the summer. Please share with anyone who may be interested in helping grow the game and support young people across DC.

Here is the: Volunteer Interest & Sign-Up Link

Volunteers can start coaching at 14 years old.
